When my mom was five months pregnant with me, she was in a serious car accident. It was a miracle we both survived.
I was born a little early on June 24, 2008, and everything seemed fine at first. But by two months old, signs of a neurological condition appeared. At one year, I was diagnosed with quadraspastic cerebral palsy. Doctors said I might never hold up my head, speak, walk, or even hold a pencil.
But God had a different plan.
Now I’m 16. I use a power chair to get around and a communication device with eye gaze to talk—my vocabulary is just like any other teen’s. I love being outdoors, traveling with my family, and spending time with my younger brother, Gunnar.
Music has been a huge part of my journey. It calms my body, helps me process things, and gives me a chance to express my deep relationship with Jesus.
