About

Light in the Well is a Minneapolis-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit using music, storytelling, and education to build bridges between people with and without disabilities. Founded in 2022, the organization creates inclusive, multi-sensory performances that center people with disabilities as storytellers and performers.

Mission: To build bridges between people with and without disabilities to provide hope, enrich lives, and influence culture through creative music experiences, storytelling, and education.

Vision: A world of kindness where people with varying abilities learn from, appreciate, and embrace one another.

What We Do

  • Multi-sensory live performances combining symphonic music and real-life storytelling
  • Educational and interactive speaking engagements
  • Music education initiatives for special education students
  • Storytelling projects including children’s books and a documentary on music therapy

Founder

Yue Wu, PhD, is a Neurologic Music Therapy Fellow and holds a PhD in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Minnesota Medical School.
